Carson
is a renowned environmentalist whose books and rhetorical articles have inspired many to continue her legacy. Her fourth book Silent Spring protested the overwhelming use of pesticides that was beginning kill off life on Earth, helping ban the use of Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) in the United States. More than anything, however, Carson is credited as the “mother of the modern environmental movement”, and her works have triggered an international environmental revolution.
